Step-by-Step Instructions

Cut all your material out with the fabric you choose.

Sew the two smaller pieces together at the top, right sides facing each other.

Turn wrong sides together. Using your ruler, mark lines on one side at 1 ½”, 2 ½”, 3 ½”, 4 ½”, 5 ½”, 6 ½”, 7 ½”, 8 ½”, 9 ½” 10 ½”, 11 ½”, 12 ½”, 13 ½”, 14 ½” 15 ½”

Matching bottom corners and edge, pin small marked piece with one of the larger pieces (back of marked small piece to the right side of large piece), making sure that the markings you just made are showing.

Starting at one side, begin sewing the markings made. Make sure that you backstitch at the top of each one and jump stitch at the end of each line. Turn the material around after each row and it will be easier to follow the lines.

Once finished, cut the Jump threads on the front top of the piece (right side).

On the right side of the other large piece, mark 5” from one edge and 2 Ύ” up. This is where you will put the button! Sew button.

Fold ribbon to make a loop and attach to edge closest and even to the button. If you want to add ric rac or lace, pin to outer edge at this time.

Match right sides together and stitch, leaving an opening to be able to turn.

Turn out and topstitch (1/4” seam).

Add crayons, roll, button and your are on the way!
